Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains how Serenity Beauty Salon & Training Academy ("Serenity", "we", "us") looks after your personal information when you visit this website, book an appointment, or take a course with us.

Who we are

Serenity Beauty Salon & Training Academy, 47 Pendre, Cardigan, Ceredigion, SA43 1JS. We are the data controller for the information described here. You can contact us on 01239 758214 or in person at the salon.

What we collect

  • Your name, phone number and email address when you book, enquire or sign up to a course.
  • Appointment details and treatment history.
  • Consultation and health information that we need to treat you safely, such as allergies, medication, skin conditions and patch test results. This is sensitive information and we handle it with extra care.
  • Photographs of treatment results, only where you have agreed to this.
  • Basic technical information, such as your IP address, if you load the Instagram video on our site.

How and why we use it

  • To arrange, carry out and follow up your appointment or course (contract).
  • To treat you safely and keep a record of treatments (legitimate interests, and your consent for health information).
  • To contact you about your booking, such as confirmations and reminders.
  • To keep records for insurance, accreditation and legal reasons (legal obligation).
  • To send marketing, only if you have told us you would like it. You can stop this at any time.

Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We share it only with services that help us run the business:

  • Phorest, the booking and client records system we use when you book online. Phorest has its own privacy policy.
  • Our website host and email provider, for running the website and replying to you.
  • Instagram (Meta), only if you choose to play the salon video on the About page. We do not load Instagram content until you press play.
  • Our insurers and accrediting bodies, where required.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Fonts are served from our own site rather than from Google. If you press play on the Instagram video, Instagram may set its own cookies; you can decline by not playing the video. Our booking provider, Phorest, may use its own cookies once you leave this site to book.

How long we keep it

We keep client and treatment records for as long as needed for your safety, for insurance and for legal reasons, and delete or anonymise them after that. Marketing details are kept until you ask us to stop.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy to take elsewhere. You can also withdraw consent at any time. Please contact us using the details above.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
